I’m Kris Keys, a watercolor artist, and storyteller whose work is rooted in memory, ritual, and the gentle power of beauty. Through meditative painting experiences, art, and floral teas, I invite others to slow down and reconnect with themselves and their lineage through art and design. Much of my inspiration comes from the women who came before me: my grandmother’s hands rolling hair, my great-grandmother’s garden, and the stories passed down through generations. My teas are hand-blended with flowers and herbs grown in small batches, curated to nourish the body while honoring cultural traditions. Whether I’m leading watercolor meditations at wellness retreats, performing live storytelling with paint, or creating limited-edition tea collections, my work is an offering to you. An invitation for you to slow down, connect, and discover more about yourself.

Peaches began with a search through my family’s lineage by first taking a trip back to Oakland, Mississippi. Upon arrival, I was given a book with my family’s history dating back to the mid 1800s. It started with a love story between my great-great grandparents, Lonie and William. William met Lonie who along with her parents and siblings were living in Yalobusha County, Mississippi transported from Tennessee. William an A.M.E. minister & farmer of a peach orchard and Lonie a mid-wife and homemaker had 10 children, one of which is my great grandmother. William had a dispute with white men over his peach orchard, which ultimately led to his disappearance. There are stories and speculations of what possibly happened to William, but I choose to celebrate the history, the resiliency, and the strength of the farmers in our lineage while also celebrating the fruit. Before it was just a flavor or a fruit at the market, the peach was a livelihood, a symbol of pride, and a harvest of dreams. Inspired by their story, I created a limited collection, a Peach Summer Tea, cold brewed for ease and elegance, and a hand-painted scarf, perfect for the warmth of the season.
